The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement, I got a lot out of it, I was able to work with a fantastic group of people.
I was treated like a full -time member of staff.
At the beginning I received a lot of support and guidance by my mentor which was extremely valuable. Throughout the year I never felt as though I couldn't have support.
I was busy on a daily basis, I always had something to do (more so in the last six months) however I could have easily coped with more work.
I was responsible for uploading content and some design work for the company's new website. I was dealing with customers on a daily basis, customer visits.
Increased my commercial awareness, use of SAP, website design, KPI's, Microsoft Office, creating marketing materials. Before completing a placement I was nervous about applying for grad jobs after finishing university. However after working at Prysmian for a year and developing so many different skills and I am not anxious whatsoever about applying for jobs.
The Company
Relaxed yet professional atmosphere.
Quite well organised.
I was sent to a rail exhibition, sent on a website training course and product training.
Flexi Time
National Travel
No available positions within the commercial department at this site however there is a grad scheme which I am looking into.
The Culture
Very friendly atmosphere, went on various nights out and meals.
Not relevant as I lived at home
Poor in Wrexham, however most socialising was done in Chester.
Five-a-side football, I joined a French language group in Wrexham
