The Role
I really enjoyed my time on placement. This is mainly because I was constantly busy and always had important tasks to do rather than insignificant tasks.
From the beginning of the placement I was included as an integral part of the team. Interns are treated no differently to other members of staff and are given all the same benefits and bonuses.
There is a folder to complete while on placement and the managers are an important part of getting this folder completed. It is a very busy industry and training starts from day 1. Managers are very keen to get Interns properly trained up straight away so that they can get involved in all aspects of the day to day running of the branch.
The industry is an extremely busy one and Enterprise seem to be one of the busiest (due to price and other benefits such as pick up service etc.) Therefore it is a very fast-paced environment, this has its ups and downs as you are never bored, however constantly have to multi-task.
When nearing the end of my placement year I was regularly running our fleet and managing staff, while training those that had just started to do the same. Which I loved doing.
The skills this placement has given me I will always use. I feel that I have put university knowledge into practice but also have learnt to multi-task and to manage both our fleet and staff.
The Company
Everybody in the branch do the same job so there is no awkwardness about job roles. I was very lucky to get on with everybody I work with and therefore we always have fun. If we have a particularly busy week, the managers will give us bonuses such as pizza for lunch!
There are lots of Interns employed by Enterprise therefore the process is extremely well practiced. There is regular training at our head office where accomodation is arranged (if you are coming from far) and there is constant communication with all admin staff.
Enterprise really want their Interns to return and therefore they really want you to succeed and excel while on placement. They are willing to do anything for Interns to succeed and help is always on hand.

I have always been praised while on placement and was lucky enough to receive a job offer upon the exit of my placement!
The Culture
There are a few Interns from the same university as me which has really helped when we have had assignments due in, and all meet regularly out of work.
I worked in Bristol which is brilliant for socialising and is not too expensive.
The nightlife in Bristol is brilliant and is much cheaper than most!
One thing we needed for out placement folder is a 'community care day' which is a day out in the local community. Enterprise really help Interns (and other members of staff) find these opportunities and they are open for all staff to do, and staff are allowed time off of work to complete them.
