The Role
Amazing experience, my time at HP was so valuable to me that I am speechless when I want to describe how useful and intense it was. To make story short: great company, great people, great place to work!
I have been involved with many different people from within HP and outside of HP. My job role was customer facing which means that I met new people on a constant basis, with the rate of meeting new people as I had it is sometimes difficult to get the "Like Family" feeling but then as you start to know more people it gets better and better.
Line Manager was very useful and helpful, all of the other senior people were more than happy to help and guide. Whilst on placement I had few mentors who had helped me with different areas of the technology, management and human interactions.
It very much depends, my role was extremely varied: from hectic days to quiet afternoons. In the end of the day if you enjoy being busy like I do, then there is always a possibility.
I was stunned how much responsibility I was actually given. Having to discuss some of the areas with senior management on projects I have been engaged on was always exciting and then actually implementing my ideas together with the management team was a great experience. Sometimes tasks given were a little tedious, but that just happens in every single job - needless to say there were only few occasions across a long time I have been on placement with HP.
I have developed so much as a student, person and a professional. Even other people have noticed the change which was very positive. I have learned a lot while with HP; technical, non-technical, soft skills - all these matter and are important skills which can be utilised in any area whatever it is academia or workplace.
The Company
Again, my role was varied and I have been working with many different people and teams. Bringing a good atmosphere into the office always helps to adapt to the new environment so I was always happy to visit new places and meet new people and it had always helped to adapt. The atmospheres in the offices were good, people were willing to talk and socialise after work - which is great.
The whole structure was clear, even if my job description was so vague. I had a clear support from people around me and I was introduced to people around the office. I would say that it was organised in such a way that it simulated the true workplace. I have rarely felt like an intern and always as a consultant.
I did so many courses on the various pieces of technologies and different skill sets, also I had so many people supporting me, so I can say that the firm had invested so much in me that I was stunned myself. For most of the skills that I have learned I had a chance to put them in practice, which is always good.

I will be more than happy to come back to HP!
The Culture
Due to my position and amount of traveling involved, I have not had much of a chance to socialise with other placement students, I have however socialised with my colleagues whilst engaged on the projects, spending amazing time with them and getting to know them on a professional and personal level.
I have not had a lot of time to socialise in the area where I was based however from what I have experienced it was fairly cheap, the costs of living were lower than the London prices but still not the lowest in the South England.
So many different towns in the area with countless nightclubs, bars, cafes etc. Good prices and nice people, in a nutshell - Great!
Endless, you can get a group of people and do something for charity, you are encouraged to get involved with your work colleagues and friends, which is always good fun.
