The Role
It was much better than I thought it would be and discovered that I really enjoyed it even though I had never done it before.
I think they really appreciated having me around to help out with little tasks to make their lives easier. I also got invited by them to different social events which made me really feel like part of the team.
My manager was really busy so it was pretty hard to get time to talk to him about work. I would get work from them if asked but feel that more encouragement that the work I was producing was relevant and of a good enough standard.
Some days were busier than others. I enjoyed having tasks that required more time going on in the background but being asked to return other work more quickly.
I was left to get on and complete pieces of work by myself
I did a variety of tasks throughout my placement and feel it will really help me in the future.
The Company
The office had a really good vibe, everyone worked together to and consulted different teams.
All the planned events took place though it was hard to organise some of them. There was already work for me to do when I arrived but it would have been good if there was a bigger project that I could have worked on from start to finish would have been really valuable.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
My appraisal was really pleasing and I felt they were pleased with my work. All students have to apply to the graduate scheme regardless of how their placement went but your mentor recommends whether they would put you on the graduate scheme
The Culture
There was lots of events and sports to take part in and got invited to lots. There were only 2 other placement students but we got along really well and it was really good to be able to chat to them about how it was all going.
I live in Bristol anyway so there wasnt a huge cost to cover whilst working but going out isnt cheap.
Always somewhere to go.
I got invited to a client event to watch an England World Cup came which was a great opportunity to experience such an event but also to socialise.
