The Role
Overall I had a great experience within the company and can look back on a great year.
To an extent - did feel there was a slight 'he's an intern' feel to things but overall felt valued by all of my team.
This was more due to issues with my line manager. Bit of confusion about my role and key targets for the team.
Good balance of work. Never felt overworked and rarely had much free time to twiddle my thumbs.
Plenty of responsibility offered within my role. Had a key say in commercial decisions.
Developed key skills in many different areas - feel I've matured more as a person in the past 12 months than during any previous year in my life.
The Company
Great atmosphere in which to work in.
The core HR team leading the interns were disorganised at times I felt. From the beginning there were issues with job role, pay, registering on the IT systems etc etc. Communication wasn't great and definitely something the company can improve
There was some opportunity to develop myself - perhaps would have expected slightly more from such a large company. We started our roles after two days of training and I felt there could have been more regular sessions with the other interns to learn and develop.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
On a personal level this isn't the job for me. I also feel the industry itself isn't in the position it was 4-5 years ago.
The Culture
Regular meets with other interns and graduates. Location isn't great but London isn't a million miles away.
Reasonably expensive as it's South-East England.
Slough and the surrounding town's nightlife has nothing to offer. However both London and Reading are within close proximity so plenty to do when you save the pennies.
Plenty of opportunities to get involved in a whole host of other things.
