The Role
For the majority of the time the tasks set for me were new and interesting. They required a bit of research or independent thinking.
The audit teams I worked on couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming, giving lots of useful advice and insight.
I felt like I could ask my managers anything. There were very approachable and amicable.
When on a client site I was always very busy but during the couple days I spend in the office I was rather free. Although this did allow me to catch up on outstanding work I had from other audit clients.
I felt like I was given a lot of responsibility considering I had just started.
The analytical and communication skills I learnt are invaluable.
The Company
It was an open plan office so there was plenty of interactions.
The internship was very well run. My only one criticism would be that there didn't seem to be a lot of external activities planned for the interns
The staff devoted plenty of time to training me, especially for new tasks or technology.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
They offered me a graduate job and I accepted!
The Culture
All the interns met up at least once a week for a social event.
Leeds was very cheap in comparison to other big cities and is certainly a lot cheaper than London. It is good value for money.
It was very good. Plenty of pubs, clubs and restaurants to choose from in Leeds.
There were different sports societies you could join as well as opportunities to do community service work every few weeks.
