About You
The vacation shceme was a very intense, activity packed week but very much informative and enjoyable.
From the start, everyone at the firm, especially my supervisor, was willing to share work and delegate responsbility. Despite only being at the firm for a week the staff really made me feel part of the team.
You are assigned a supervisor and a trainee buddy instantly and this means that you have at the very least two people to help at all times. Nobody was too busy to help and in fact people made a conscious effort to help wherever necessary.
In terms of helping to develop my degree studies, I didn't learn anything in particular to help academically. But the skills I developed will definitely be useful post university, especially when it comes to training and the early stages of my career.
The Company
Very well strcutured - plenty of opportunity to do; varied work, see different areas of the company, chat with staff more informally. Also, including two assessments helps to break up the week. Only criticism was that the trainee presentation was probably too long and not well strcutured.
The general atmosphere was relaxed, down to earth and friendly. Never laughed so much during a vacation shcme!
Dependent on the outcome of the vacation scheme.
The insight was very open and varied and so it was very useful to see what working full time would involve and this was across all levels, from junior positions right the way through to senior roles .
Had several opportunities to speak professionally and socially with staff which helped to give a really detailed understanding of the unique culture.
Everything Else
I was paid and if you incurred expenses these would also be reimbursed.
Several social events and most people had an open door policy so you could go and chat about anything.
Brilliant - there were several opportunities but at the same time it wasn't overloaded. Also they weren't overly formal which makes them a more relaxed envrionment.
Very active employees!
Abolsutely - no hesitation!
