The Role
Ups and downs (as one would expect). Lots of really fascinating technical work coupled with the rather drier paperwork side of things
I was mainly left to work relatively independently - which suited me fine. However help was always available when I asked for it
I was given my own tasks, projects, objectives to which I was assessed. I also felt it was up to me to claim my responsibility over something - a great way to work.
Learned as much during my year at Rolls-Royce as I did during the three previous years of my degree.
The Company
Standard open-plan office feel. Nothing special
For the most part, excellent - although there were some internal problems with HR regarding mix ups between interns and graduates
I was given the opportunity to complete many rather involved training courses. I certainly was given the impression that the company was very keen on investing in its people

The Culture
A small one. Derby's not really a happening place.
