The Role
Not exciting but that's work. It was a very good first job to have.
Team are all close and you collaborate a lot with colleagues from around the world.
Support was always available.
Towards the end I was on the busy side. The amount of work you have is what you make it.
Lead a project for upgrading scanners used in factories across 9 sites from old to new model.
The experience of being in the work environment and seeing different situations is more valuable than technical skills you learn.
The Company
Quite a serious environment.
First person in this particular team so they didn't know what they were doing completely but this soon didn't matter and I was just as capable as people replacing current placement students.
Everyone made effort to train me and guide me throughout the placement, not to mention giving me a level of responsibility.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
More to do with the location, it is quite far out for me.
The Culture
Yes.
Renting was quite expensive but so long as you don't waste too much money socialising at least every weekend should be a breeze.
Not the best night out you could have.
Campus events and promoting Nestle as an employer yes but activities/sport clubs after work were unheard of.
