About You
The placement was a fantastic experience and gave me a real insight into life and work at the firm. I would definitely recommend it.
I was given interesting work to do and all of the staff were helpful and supportive.
As above - it really helps to ask questions as well as everyone was more than willing to explain things in more detail if you asked.
I learned a lot about the structure of Pinsent Masons and generally how firms are having to adapt to give clients the best service possible.
The Company
The placement was very well structured. Each morning we had presentations on the different practice areas and there were events like partner lunches and social evenings throughout the two weeks.
Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming. The firm is obviously very busy, but people do go out of their way to make you feel at ease.
Whenever I assisted on a piece of work the lawyers would make sure I got to see the finished article, this enabled me to see how my work fitted into the bigger picture for the client.
There were lots of opportunities to speak with people from across the firm and find out about their experiences.
The practice presentations were a great way to learn more about the firm.
Everything Else
I was paid on the last day of the placement.
As above - there are lots of social events and presentations from employees so you get to meet a broad range of people.
These were all well organised, from softball (although it rained) to bowling. There were also office drinks and a partner lunch.
We had a presentation on the firm's CSR activities.
Definitely - this is the best way to get a reall 'feel' for the firm.
