About You
I really enjoyed the work that I did in my team, I enjoyed learning about the firm and the social events were great.
I was given a wide variety of work to do and I felt that my opinions were taken into account. Documents that I drafted were used to send to clients.
All of my team were more than happy to answer questions that I had and they regularly checked that I didn't have any problems.
I developed a variety of skills, but particularly fantastic research and drafting skills.
The Company
The 2 weeks were very well structured and we were all given a timetable at the start of the placement. The practice group presentations sometimes ran over time but they were very useful and so most people didn't mind.
The atmosphere within my team was really friendly and I got that impression from other departments as well. The social events were really good and enabled everyone to relax and have fun.
We were given IT training at the start of the placement and throughout my placement my trainee buddy was really helpful - she showed me how to use various tools and answered all my questions.
As we were fully involved with client work and given a high level of responsibility, I felt like a trainee for 2 weeks!
Sitting in a team for 2 weeks really enables you to get a feel for the atmosphere and the culture on a day to day basis.
Everything Else
We met employees from all departments during the practice group presentations and at the social events.
The social events were really fun - we went to the comedy store, we went bowling and went out for drinks. We were also invited to the office wide Summer Party which was very well organised and made us all feel part of the firm.
We had a very good talk on CSR and opportunities to get involved.
The firm is very friendly and does its best to ensure that everyone gets the most they can out of the placement in terms of information about the firm and transferable skills.
