The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at The Walt Disney Company, it was a great experience and it helped develop my skills for the future. The team I worked in were very welcoming and supported me with training and advice throughout my year.
I felt very valued by my colleagues and were able to build a great relationship with the HR team and other employees in the company. I regularly got good feedback from my Managers and colleagues which helped motivate me.
I was given a lot of support throughout my placement especially from my Line Manager who helped me with time management skills and allowed me to take part in a project for my University which showed trust in me. She also guided me with her knowledge of different aspects of HR.
I was very busy on a daily basis, having different tasks for different colleagues throughout the organisation, the team and my Manager helped me balance my tasks and spread the work out so it was manageable which really helped me.
I was given a good amount of responsibility in different projects I was involved in and with daily tasks that I was given the responsibility for.
I feel that working such a large global company really helped me with my skills specifically for my degree as I am finding it much easier in my seminars now I have the experience to relate back to.
The Company
There was a laid back and fun environment in the office as everyone got on really well and everyone was really friendly and sociable, Along with a very professional manner.
It was extremely organised and I knew what my objectives were and my short and long term goals.
They invested a lot of time with my training and allowed me to shadow inductions and meeting and also take part in different training activities.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
It would be very appealing for future employment at The Walt Disney Company, unfortunately as there are no graduate schemes I will not be able to do that but I have kept in touch with the team and hopefully there would be an opportunity in the future.
The Culture
Yes there was a social committee who run events and outings regularly, however this was hard to always attend as I commuted in.
It was expensive to go out in London, however we often attended student nights out so it would be cheaper.
It was very impressive.
Yes there were opportunities to volunteer in the community.
