The Role
I enjoyed my time at HP as I gained invaluable experience which will undoubtedly give me the best chance when I leave University and begin my search for a graduate position.
Friendly, supportive & always helpful!
Always on hand or contactable when I needed them.
In my role, I had one very busy day, the remainder of the week was well balanced.
One of the best aspects of this intern programme is that you are given real responsibilities. You contribute to the daily efficiency and running of your department and are given the chance to show your skills.
Absolutely no doubt that the skills/knowledge gained will forward my career prospects when departing from university.
The Company
Staff are generally cheery and happy in the office.
The handover process was well planned and I felt that I was in a good position when the previous intern left. The recruitment process was relatively well organised, however I did experience a big delay in receiving contact at one stage.
I had weekly one to one sessions in which I was able to ask questions, solve queries and enhance my skills in areas I chose.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
I will be applying for a graduate position at this company and hope to succeed in doing so.
The Culture
A number of social events were arranged for the interns by an intern committee.
General costings of going out to meals/clubs was not too extravagant. However, I lived at home during the placement and so offset the cost of paying for a room in a house.
Good range of bars/nightclubs in the town.
You were given the chance to participate in charity events.
