The Role
Great company culture, lots of responsibility for a placement and treated like any other employee.
Always feel open to asking questions and get support when needed. Opinion feels valued when you present information to management.
1 to 1 sessions providing consistent feedback, opportunity for you to ask for feedback on things. Always open for support.
There is never a time when there is nothing to do. You can manage your workload to ensure you prioritise tasks efficiently, but I never felt I was too busy that it caused me stress.
You are given lots of opportunitys to look after important areas of the business. If you don't feel like you have enough, you can simply ask for more!
Massively improved confidence, presenting skills. Therefore, will help for future interviews and general communication in work environments for the future. Also provides pivotal work experience as hiring companies seem to always want you to have some kind of relevant work experience opposed to a standalone degree. Placements are the way to go!
The Company
Always a positive mood among the office. Everyone is bright and chatty, but also professional and gets the work done. I feel this culture helps the business to thrive so that people can bounce off each others personalities helping everyone to work better as a team.
The finance placement is very new so there were a few organisational aspects which could be improved in the future. However, everything that was promised was delivered. There was a lot of well organised training, which was both helpful and made you feel valued and supported through the companies investment in you.
Lots of extra sessions to help develop me and to help prepare me for future working life, regardless of whether at another company or back at TK Maxx.
I have been given a fasttrack place on to next years assessment centre to get onto the grad scheme.
The Culture
If you wanted to go down the pub or for a meal/bowling etc. there is always someone willing to go. I found it easy to get along with my fellow placements. I feel everyone is hired to fit in the open culture of the business as this is what helps it thrive and be successful.
It isn't too expensive as it's just outside of London so you get cheaper prices and your also close to London so it's basically win win!
In the heart of Watford town centre so there are a number of night clubs and a wide variety of bars in the town.
Would go to weekly football with peers outside of work and we would have meals out and bowling nights.
