The Role
I have enjoyed every minute of my placement at Intel and will be very sad to leave. Intel has broadened both my skill and knowledge base within the Marketing Industry and I have been exposed to some fantastic projects and also external agencies.
Everyone at Intel is extremely welcoming and are always happy to help. Never have I been made to feel like an outsider or invaluable.
I had weekly coffee meetings with my Manager and colleagues to express any feelings that I may have whilst on placement and to ensure that I was happy in my position.
Due to organisational processes there are peaks and troughs in workload throughout the year but there is always something to be done or a new project to be involved in if your willing to take on new tasks. You are in total control of your own workload at Intel, whether you want to work less or more.
Very rarely was I made to feel like an Intern and consistently felt like a pivotal member of the team.
Many of the tasks that I am now completing on a daily basis would have daunted me at the start of the year but now are like second nature. On work experience is the most valuable experience of all and I will definitely be entering my final year of studies with a much more disciplined and strategic approach due to the routine I have come accustomed to.
The Company
Extremely fun and friendly, there was a great balance of work and play.
Intel have a very well structured placement scheme across the organisation within every department. The year began with an open day to meet other interns, help to find accommodation, regular social events in the local town and throughout the year it was very clear what was expected from me as an Intern.
Intel offer a wide variety of training courses to develop personal skills that can be applied in a working environment and Managers were very keen for Interns to attend as many training sessions as possible.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
It dependent on department and year on year funding, but if you make a good enough impression and work hard, your sure to be remembered.
The Culture
Intel has a large community of interns which makes for a great social scene during the week and at weekends.
Very fair, living costs in Swindon are very reasonable which leaves a nice amount of money to spend on social activities at the weekends.
Swindon is surrounded by loads of great cities such as Bristol, Reading, Bath and London so there's no shortage of fun activities.
There are a lot of activities to choose from inside and outside of the company.
