The Role
12 placement students in 3 groups all lived and worked together, good fun.
Lots of support, help and enthusiasm available.
Lots of support available if you go looking for it, including some world leading individuals in their areas.
Management did not push too hard though kept providing food for thought, keeping us on our toes.
As a group we essentially managed ourselves, which
Probably limited. A good insight into the transmission industry as a whole, the future energy network of the UK, and into group and project work. Excel and presentation skills certainly improved!
The Company
Good, plenty of cakes etc
Professionally handelled by the folks in HR from the start.
The whole placement is targeted at our development. Realistically, the value to the company of our project was limited, but the value to us much higher.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Grad scheme or direct entry available, huge orginisation.
The Culture
12 undergrads living together, cant go wrong there.
Quite dear compared to Uni; much cheaper than London though. Wetherspoons served cheapest beer.
Leamington Spa has a club and several bars. Hardly kickin though.
