The Role
It has been fantastic! The work has been challenging, but there is always someone there to support you. Also with so much going on outside of your day to day job, there is no shortage of opportunities to get involved.
The open door policy within TJX extends to everyone, whether work related, curiosity based or personal, there is literally no one that you can't go and talk to if you have a question. As well as this the team I was based in made me feel extremely welcome, right from Day 1.
The support offered has been great. You can work freely knowing that if you have a problem there is someone to talk to, but equally having the confidence to make decisions for yourself.
The balance of work was appropriate, allowing me to take on more when I needed to and equally delegate work during the busier times.
My responsibility increased gradually as my experience and knowledge grew, until ultimately I was making real decisions about projects and my time was completely my own to organise.
The training provided developed not only your skills for the role, but interpersonal skills also. It allowed you to gain a deeper understanding of your strengths and weaknesses and how to improve.
The Company
Great atmosphere, everyone was really friendly!
From start to finish everything was well organised and if you had any questions the placement coordinator was always on hand.
They invested a lot, with great amounts of training both internally and external. Also took part in the Times Graduate Challenge.

Future prospects are very appealing and I aim to return after finishing my degree.
The Culture
The placements and graduates all socialise together, as you would expect. But team nights out are another opportunity to get to know your colleagues.
The cost of living was fine where I lived. Renting a house between 3 was actually cheaper than just getting a room at university.
The nightlife was okay, but with London so close there was always somewhere to go if that's what you're looking for.
Tons of opportunities were available outside of work.
