The Role
I worked on a really great project in a team I really liked. I felt like it was a good company to work for
I felt like a valued and responsible member of my team.
I had an excellent placement manager who I worked closely with. I also had a scheme manager who I met with regularly.
Some days I was very busy, others I had to ask for more work. To some degree I had to be flexible about balancing this myself.
I was an integral part of a project team who had a lot of responsibility but my work was often checked if it could have a high impact.
I learnt a lot from working with an experience team in a fast paced environement.
The Company
Relaxed atmosphere despite fast pace of the work. We had several evenings out.
I moved projects half way through, the intitial team I worked with were not very well prepared to have me but once I transferred it was great.
We did several learning lunch sessions, the feelings was that they would hope to have you continue with the company on a graduate scheme.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
I was offered a place on the graduate scheme in my final week.
The Culture
We were well integrated and did regular social activities.
Live there anyway, Edinburgh can be expensive to live but Standard Life paid my rent so overall it was a low cost.
I live there usually. The Edinburgh Festival was happening while I was there so very exciting. Living in Edinburgh is exciting usually, lots of bars, clubs, student scene etc.
Standard Life has lots of socities and clubs you can join alongside team and intern nights out.
