The Role
I really enjoyed working with the team at the Trowbridge branch in my placement year. It has been a useful and enjoyable experience and I am grateful for the opportunity.
I felt like a valued member of the team and we all worked really well together. I hope to keep in touch with everyone and I am genuinely sad to be leaving the team. There is a strong team ethic within Enterprise as a company as well.
Management were very approachable with any queries or support and guidance required, particularly in completing the tasks set in the MQI folder of the programme. Help was always available from colleagues, supervisors and my area manager who were all useful and friendly sources of information and guidance.
It is a very fast paced environment and most days are extremely busy, but I thrive on this as time flies and I feel more challenged. It was only too busy for a short period in the first few months of my employment as we were extremely understaffed for a few weeks and ended up having to stay late on top of the already long hours and cancel plans at last minute which was stressful, but this was just a temporary phase.
You are given responsibility to complete your MQI folder tasks, keeping on top of what you need to do next and requesting any help you may need to achieve success in these. I also had responsibility for certain admin tasks and the maintenance of the fleet, which was good experience.
I would absolutely recommend a placement to every student as the skills and experience are so valuable in enhancing your employability. I have gained so much confidence, business knowledge, communication and team work experience, and customer service etc. and it has really prepared me for graduate work - particularly as Enterprise treated me no differently to the permanent employees and valued me just as much.
The Company
There was a great atmosphere on the branch and the team were all friendly and positive people who cooperated to make it an enjoyable workplace.
Quite well organised, the only issue being the lack of time to focus on MQI and development within the branch when busy, but the structure is great and works well.
Training sessions throughout the year were great help and enjoyable experiences to attend, and the support from management and higher senior management through calls and visits was really good.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Very appealing as it is internal promotion only and based on fair criteria
The Culture
Great people and had fun together but people tended to be too tired after work for social activities and have other commitments on weekends.
I live in this area anyway so I am used to it.
