    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really enjoyed the internship, I got a lot of responsibility and did the same work as a graduate. The work was enjoyable and my team were lovely.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I think my colleagues appreciated my work and always gave me feedback and development points for future work. I was treated as one of the team.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a buddy who was always there to answer my questions, specific to work and also just the company. I also had an intern manager who was really helpful at sorting out partner shadowing and finding interesting work for me to help out with. I also had a counsellor who I met often to see how the internship was going and guide my internship path.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Generally I was really busy because I took on a lot of work but I could have always said no to taking on more work if I wanted to. Its up to you to find as much work as you want. Sometimes there is less work in the department they'll you be able to help with.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was doing all the same work as a graduate so I felt really involved with the role and not just an intern. I was doing client work and large sections of reports that went to them.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • What I learnt won't help me in my degree but it's definitely really useful to know how group companies work and international tax. My experience will definitely help my career.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere generally was relaxed and friendly.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Really well organised but I was surprised near the end with an email saying I would be on rotation for the last week. This could have been communicated to me earlier.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Members of my team invested a lot of time in helping me understand everything as with my arts background, I didn't know much at all.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • If you perform well and gather good feedback, you are most likely to be offered a job.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were at least 2 intern events a week as there were events run by the summer internship team and also by a social committee formed by interns.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is really expensive and so are most of the bars and clubs.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife was good, different to university clubs but still fun with all the interns.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There's opportunities to join sports teams, do volunteering etc.
