The Role
The placement was very enjoyable. Being part of a big internship scheme, and having other students there to share the experience with was very rewarding.
I generally felt extremely valued. Everyone makes sure you're treated as any other employee would be, and are not just seen as a student.
My manager was very helpful and would always be there to answer any queries I had.
I had a good amount of work to do, however would always have been comfortable with being given more responsibility.
From day one I was given responsibility for my own projects and was also involved in projects to support managers.
The placement year really helped to formalise decisions for my final year units. It also helped to guide me towards a career choice for the future.
The Company
Your experience will vary depending on what role you apply for, but most students enjoyed working with their teams, and the office atmosphere was mostly good.
The HR team organised the placement very well.
We were given the opportunity to go on a variety of different training courses, from presentation skills, to project management.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Panasonic don't have a graduate scheme, however some placement students have returned to the company to take up permanent roles.
The Culture
It was great to socialise with everyone. Most of the placement students live together, and we always went out and socialised together.
About average
Panasonic is based near Reading, so there were some decent clubs in the town centre, however not as good as having a placement in London.
Nothing specific.
