The Role
Good company and department. Opportunities to try different things.
Great team, treated like any other employee and not as a placement student.
Given clear instructions and given help when needed. Mentor was very approachable and always willing to help.
My role varied from day to day. At the beginning of the year I found I had a lot of spare time but by the end of placement I always had something to do.
Given a lot of responsibility and given real tasks to do. Trusted by the team to complete tasks for higher levels.
Not yet back to uni but I have learned a lot of useful skills that should help me in my final years.
The Company
Good office to work in. Can have a laugh with department but also knew when to get my head down and work.
It was up to me to let my managers know what I wante from the year, they could then work around this and try and help me experience everything I had asked for.
Not a lot of emphasis given to make Industrial Placements do training or work on development plans however they were supportive when I took the time to create my own using their templates.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Have been able to see other offices and other departments and make connections. This also allowed me to learn about different roles I may be interested in.
The Culture
Huge number of placements / grads with a specific commity to organise sports and social events just for them. There was also a sports and social commity for the whole company. Within my department it was also encouraged to organise/take part in social events such as dinners and nights out.
Plenty of properties to rent, rent fairly cheap. I lived in the centre of town so was easy to go out, and go shopping etc. Cheap rent for where I lived.
Lots of different areas with restruants, bars and clubs.
There are lots of different activities to take part in, especially sports.
