The Role
I really have no other words for my time here other than brilliant, the opportunity and responsibility given here at Panasonic will help you develop and mature in your working career more than you will expect. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time and I actually hope to return someday in the future.
At Panasonic you are really somebody. You are not just a student, you are somebody that people rely on, respect and expect to make things happen. I have always felt valued around my colleagues here at Panasonic and you do get back what you put in.
My manager has been fantastic at giving me the right balance of support and responsibility. As well as this, my other colleagues are always there for support. In addition to this our General Affairs department and Human Resources are also available for assistance too.
There is always something to do if your prepared to do it. I personally took on as much work as possible as i was extremely keen to learn, helping other colleagues and other teams when i had achieved my own targets. At times it can be too much work to handle however this was never an issue as you can always ask for support when need be.
I was given masses of responsibility. You really have a Job here at Panasonic, there is no slacking or tea making, people rely on you and you always have to be active. The more you work and the better you do, the more responsibility you will be given.
I have been on many training courses since my time at Panasonic. This includes life skills as well as practical and technical skills. For example I have taken training courses in softwares such as Microsoft Office, Marketo, Dashboard, SalesForce, SAP, Adobe softwares and many more. I have learnt how to prioritise and organise under pressure, deal with difficult customers and a lot about the projection/display industry. The skills i have learnt here are far beyond what my degree has taught me, i have learnt real working world skills.
The Company
Comfortable and friendly, often celebrating occasions such as birthdays. Everyone in the office is friendly and people smile!
The internship is very well organised. It allows you develop with the right balance of responsibility and training.
The company invests a lot into there students and not just financially. The MD and many other senior colleagues give up there time to train you and answer your questions which is very rare in most placements.

Many students return to work at Panasonic full time as the placement scheme is there to spot talent and help students decide what they want to do in the future.
The Culture
Dont worry.. You wont miss University! The social scene here at Panasonic is fantastic. Not will you only make friends with your colleagues but as a group of 16 students (often living near each other too) you will still be going out and doing things all together.
As well all live in student housing in Reading the rent was really cheap. You can pay anything between £280 to £350 a month excluding bills whereas most London placements would require you to pay at least twice this.
The night-life in Reading isn't fantastic however i believe its not where you go, its who you with. Your guaranteed to have a close group of friends with the students at Panasonic enjoying your nights out and the city. In addition to this, Reading is a nice city with events always happening.
There are loads of opportunities to do external work, exhibitions, events, social gatherings and much more. There is much more here than just a placement, you really get back what you put in. Work hard and the opportunities are endless!
