The Role
It was a lot of MATLAB work, so on a computer the whole time, but once I got used to that all was good.
If I wasn't doing the task then they would have to do it themselves! So even if I was doing it slower than they would (I was just learning!) they certainly did value the work.
All the support I could ever need.
Just right. Busy and interesting so the time went quickly (in a good way), but not overloaded.
I was on the level of a normal full time employee.
The work is very specialised, so will probably not directly influence my physics degree. But technical know-how and MATLAB experience is always good!
The Company
Everyone is busy working, but there's always occasional talk (work and/or social).
I had a great experience in this respect. Computers, work load, people, all set up before my arrival, and all went perfectly.
The employee I worked most with spent a lot of time helping me.
