The Role
Nice place to work and everyone was very friendly. I made lots of new friends and was invited to partake in weekend activities with other graduates, and I generally enjoyed the work as it was specific to my degree course and I had an good idea of what I was doing. I also learnt lots and have more skills to add to my CV.
Everyone was very nice and comforting, and there was always people on hand to ask for help. I was asked for my input during design phases and felt that I made a valuable contribution during my time.
I felt that support was available all the time and if I needed any work to do or guidance I knew who to ask. When my manager was away it was made very clear who I could consult in the meantime.
For the majority of the time I had work to do, but sometimes I was given work to tide me over. This couldn't really be helped as what I was involved in was still in the design phase so the work was sometimes bitty. Although this was also a good point in that I was invited to meetings where the design was being discussed and I could provide input which I thought was good.
I felt that I had a responsible involvement in the work and became quite a key part of the team. I was asked to make my own decisions and think up some new ideas for review later on, but help was always on hand should I have needed it. I was partially sad to leave the project behind due to my knowledge and involvement.
I am very grateful of the work experience that this placement has provided me, as it will provide me with a good reference for the future as well as giving me skills for my degree studies and confidence of industrial capabilities.
The Company
The people I sat near were always very friendly and talkative, and I was free to come and go as I pleased with no one keeping tabs on me or watching over my shoulder. The relaxed atmosphere is very calming and gives you a good working environment.
The placement was very well organised, I had a desk and computing accounts set up for me for when I arrived. My manager was very friendly and introduced me to everyone I needed to communicate with and if I needed anything I could ask for it. I had a clear and relaxed first couple of weeks giving me time to research the background information of my project and then had instructions of what I was to be working on.
I had an intense security training course as well as safety introductions etc. No training for my work was required but if I needed anything I would have been attended a course. I feel that I have developed lots of new skills whilst working here and am grateful for the input received.

Very appealing, I throughly enjoyed my time here and think it would be a great place to work. I hope that I get offered a graduate job.
The Culture
Yes, I made lots of new friends with current grads/undergrads and did lots of social activities including: pub lunches/quizzes, going to the gym together, football matches, and even went go-karting and wakeboarding during my time here.
I managed to get a good housing arrangement of £48 a week rent, sharing with other summer placements which worked out really well. Other costs are relatively average and I wouldn't say it's an expensive area to live/work.
Very enjoyable, Bristol has a good music scene and I went out in town a couple of times with friends from work.
Yes, as mentioned earlier I undertook several activities with newly made friends here. But there was also the opportunity to partake in company events such as archery and climbing for charities.
