The Role
I thought it was an amazing insight into what life an an auditor can be like and the variety of clients I was assigned to made the internship a lot more enjoyable.
KPMG employees always make you feel part of the company. They are really helpful and encourage you to do what you are comfortable with.
I was given structured guidance as to what I have to do and how I do the tasks set to me. The managers were at hand to answer any questions I have, but due to them being busy a lot, there was a lot of independent working.
Very busy with some late finishes.
I was treated like a 1st year ACA trainee in terms of the work I was set which is perfect for me because I have an accounting background.
Learn a lot of useful and transferable skills that will definitely help me in my careers with KPMG and in the Accountancy profession in general.
The Company
Even though people were busy, they were chatting and having fun as well. There was a break out area and a hot desk policy which allows you to sit near different colleagues on different days. Very social.
Very structured, assigned work and exposure to clients.
They paid a very good salary, paid expenses and team lunches/ social events. Also there was a paid for 3 day residential training.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
