The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the company. I got to put the skills learned at university to good use and learned a lot, meeting a lot of great people along the way as well.
I was definitely valued by my colleagues. Right from the beginning I felt that they were there to support me and I had no problems with the way they treated me.
I always felt that I could go to someone in my team or my supervisor for help. The support they gave was fantastic. It really helped me feel at ease.
I was not too busy on a daily basis; I thought the balance was good and I learned how to manage my workload as the internship went on.
I was given quite a bit of responsibility from the very start, with my own project. I was actually given a fair number of projects during my time at the company and leading them was great fun, if not a bit daunting to begin with.
I have learned a great number of skills during my time at the company and I have no doubt that these will be useful for me in my career in the future.
The Company
I thought the atmosphere in the office was pretty good. It was a great working environment and it didn't feel too hectic. Overall, I enjoyed working in my part of the office.
I would say it was very well set up. It's quite hard to co-ordinate and I felt the team did a good job in getting everyone settled and knowing what to do.
There is a big emphasis on personal training and development. If you feel you need training in anything then your manager can talk to you about it. I found my manager was really helpful and was encouraging me to upgrade myself all the time which was great to hear.

The graduate programme looks very appealing and since I have completed this placement, I feel that I have an upper advantage -- I will definitely apply.
The Culture
The social scene was pretty good. I enjoyed getting to know the other placement students and made some really good friends from it.
The cost was not bad, but coming from London, I was used to this. It is definitely manageable, although you will need to budget carefully.
Nightlife was pretty good with some nice places to go to. I mostly went out with the other placement students and we all seemed to have a good time.
The opportunities are there but you have to find them, so get talking to people. I talked to a lot of people that my manager introduced and ended up building quite a good network from this. It was great to get to know other people in the business who have been there for a while so that you can see their take on things.
