The Role
This was my first real job and I have enjoyed it so much and will be applying for the grad scheme. After working here in not sure I could work anywhere else, the flexible working is great and makes me wonder why does everyone not do this
Everyone was really friendly and always willing to help you. There was a good group of interns, grads and apprentices as well going through the same experiences. Everyone is always willing to chat and there was always a chance to socialise.
Manager was always there for me and we we're also given our own buddy who was an experienced person soemwhere else in the company. We also had a mentor who was again another person in the company. They were all there for help and we could talk to them about any issues or queries we had.
It would vary some days I would not have a lot to do (especially at the start) but then i'd have days where it would be non stop 9 - 5 if not later.
Given a lot of responsibility right from the start which seemed daunting at first but with the great support and guidance I had from my manager and others.
Learned so much here, the skills I've learnt from this placement ,I feel will be more important then the ones I learn from my course at uni.
The Company
Everyone works really hard but there is buzz. As i said everyon is friendly so you can always.
I had a 3 day induction with a group of other interns, I received my i-phone(later received the new nokia) and laptop on the last day of the induction. This induction helped us to meet some of the other interns and get us used to Telefonica's
The company invest a lot of time and money.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
I will definitely be applying for the graduate scheme.
The Culture
I was based in Leeds office which only had 7 interns and 3 grads but I would go out most weekends with the other interns and to after work gatherings.
I got a great apartment near the centre and it wasn't that expensive.Leeds is a uni city so there are loads of student nights/discounts.
Leeds is a great night out as something for everyone.
With the company i didn't find many things to get involved with after work but there are loads of oportunities in Leeds. Within work at Telefonica there are loads of opportunites to get involved with Think Big projects and other events throughout the year. Those days are always a great thing to do and get you out the office!
