    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship allowed me to understand the audit process and PwC's relationship with clients. It also allowed me to understand the nature of business that my clients were involved in and also understand more about PwC as a whole. It was very enjoyable with a wide range of tasks to get involved with and lots of interesting people to meet!

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • People in the office were helpful if you ever had any questions and my team were very supportive when out at client sites. I was able to chat with the team and find out more about them and their experiences working with PwC.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I felt supported during the entire internship and was able to set goals and challenges to make the most of my time with PwC. If I was ever concerned or unsure about anything, there was always someone to talk to.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Overall, I had a good mix of work to perform and was given ever greater responsibilities as I completed tasks. When I was not busy doing client work, there was always time to complete my project and complete e-learning tasks.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given far more responsibility during the internship that I ever thought possible! However, it was not thrown on me from the start. I completed tasks and was given feedback on these. As these were completed to the satisfaction of my team, I was then given more responsibility - you are encouraged to be pushed, but not if you aren't comfortable. I was also told to ask as many questions as possible!

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The experiences from PwC have taught me time management, organisation skills, communication skills, team working skills and many more important life skills. The PwC internship also allowed me to experience a professional office environment for the first time.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • As many people were on holiday and it was still a busy time in the office, there weren't many social activities. However, people in the office were still friendly and helpful if you ever had any questions.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well organised, with plenty of work to get involved with. I was able to experience work with large clients such as Centrica, as well as smaller and more local clients. The Internship project as provided a welcome break from client work!

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • PwC supported me through on the job training as well as a "crash course" in audit work, which took place during the 3 day induction event in Birmingham. This allowed me to understand many of the processes carried out by PwC on a day to day basis.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I was able to secure a graduate job with the firm on the last day of my Internship! PwC offer graduate jobs to over 90% of their summer Interns, so a summer Internship could land you with a graduate job before you even start your last year of university!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I got on really well with the other summer Interns and we even met up with the first year joiners, who had just joined PwC as graduates.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Accommodation is OK, but Otherwise it is very costly.
