The Role
Really good. Totally unique projects you work on (unlike where in a bank, all the projects are the same for the analyst). get to work on real life, significant projects that can actually change the economy.
Everyone treated me really well, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. There were lots of social events on too over the summer, so you get to know them really well.
Really well. I had two managers and both would sit down and explain what every project was for, along with what I had to do on it. They would also come over daily to check I was understanding everything.
Really not that busy. You are given a few days work to do in one go, but your managers are really busy that sometimes catch up meetings are delayed by a day, so you often get time to sit around and relax/go find other work from the team.
Loads. You are doing proper projects, just like graduates that the rest of the team use and build on.
Saw a totally unique aspect onto the economy, I learnt the rules and thinking process of the bank of England, along with hugely increasing my VBA skills
The Company
There weren't many party animals in the office, but people would go to the pub. There were also quite a few jokes going around, but people were a bit too academic for it to get a really high rating in this section.
The team work hard to ensure you seamlessly fit into the team, then after about the first week your treated like any other team member with projects and deadlines to do.
Really well. There was alot of training in the first week, along with various online training modules and courses that I took during the internship.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
I got a graduate job offer with them.
The Culture
Everyone was really friendly and the graduates seemed really close. Every Friday something would be on, and during the week you could find someone to go have a pint with easily.
London's expensive, but you get paid well.
London is amazing!
Yes, there are lots of training courses, a Wednesday lunchtime football league, pub trips, team social every month etc..
