About You
A highly enjoyable scheme during which I gained a real insight into the type of work that Hogan Lovells does.
All my supervisors expressed their appreciation for the work I had completed which made me feel a valued part of the team.
We had IT and research training at the beginning of the scheme which helped me throughout the three weeks. The Graduate Recruitment Team and my supervisors were always willing to explain things and answer any questions I had.
I improved my presentation and team work skills which will be highly valuable when I go back to university as well as in my future career. The information I received in my departments will be useful in deciding areas of law I may wish to practice in the future.
The Company
The scheme was very well structured. There was a good balance between organised events and time to spend in our departments. I spent a week in three different departments allowing me to meet a wide range of people and undertook a broad variety of work.
The atmosphere was extremely friendly and welcoming.
I felt the firm invested in us a lot. We were given a lot of training and had a lot of opportunities to interact with people from within the firm.
The scheme was an excellent opportunity to find out what it is like to be a trainee as well as an associate at the firm. Trainees explained the reality of working at the firm and the type of work they undertook on a day to day basis. The insight was highly valuable on understanding the work and culture of Hogan Lovells.
The insight gave me an excellent insight in the company culture and its values.
Everything Else
I was given a weekly allowance of £300.
There were plenty of networking events including lunches with partners and a chance to go along to team meetings and training sessions when possible.
The social events were lots of fun, especially the end of scheme dinner. They were great opportunities to get to know the other vacation scheme students and network with representatives of the firm.
I found out about the gym and on-site facilities.
Yes, it is a great opportunity if you are considering a career at a city law firm and in particular at a top-quality international law firm.
