The Role
The people I worked with were friendly, as were the other interns.
I was really made to feel welcome from the onset especially by my buddy whom regularly kept in touch with me during the year.
E&Y arranged for us to have a counselor. They were really helpful when we came across any difficulties with our clients.
With reference to busy season, this is when things kick off and the hours worked do not follow a regular pattern!
I was given a high level of responsibility and was encouraged to take up more.
Microsoft Excel skills were extremely beneficial. In addition I feel that my perseverance has improved due to the complexities experienced on working on some clients.
The Company
There was many office activities going on - from dress down days to charity fund raisers.
The internship started with a three day induction before starting in the office, which set out what the internship would involve, and was very useful... and fun!
I really liked the office as they had so much to offer. The open plan layout made it very sociable but suitable to work.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I was offered a graduate job at the end of my placement, which I have accepted.
The Culture
There was a black tie event held at the end of the internship which was a fun night, and the interns all got on well in the office and often went out after work together.
I set up camp in Canary wharf which is not the cheapest place to live. The area was fantastic however!
The nightlife was great. There was always something to do and I loved just roaming around central London and discovering new places.
There were many sports opportunities and socials involving my department which I was able to get involved with during my year there.
