    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Lots of variety and chances to move around the company to see other areas, but some other placements were in roles not degree related.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • They were all welcoming and a pleasure to work with.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I feel I had less support than others in the company, but that was partially due to personal preference as I enjoyed some work solo.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Occasionally I was between work waiting for others, but there is always something to help with or places to see.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I feel I was working on par with others in my department and only fell back through lack of experience in the field.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Some work was very specialised and the knowledge wouldn't serve a purpose other than the fact I am applying for Graduate positions with the company, but the work ethic and focus will serve as a great help for the future.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Mostly great as I could chat to everyone but occasionally the office was almost empty.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very good other than a few points where there was a bit of lack of communication as the HR team was under staffed and therefore could only take time to communicate the big things.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Help throughout to the point where one person has said he will mentor me through my charter ship.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Sponsorship awarded for final two years, placement over summer between part C and D and also fast tracked to the graduate assessment centre.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The majority of students were based in Warwick and Leamington so they were often out, for me I was in Leicester so couldnt always attend but was always invited.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Accommodation is reasonable as there is plenty of student houses in the Leicester area.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Leamington was the place to go and there was always a pub or club to go to.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Socials, volunteering, special Olympics involvement and other visits.

    5/5
