The Role
Very enjoyable - I was able to travel a lot meeting new people and the work was quite interesting.
My colleagues were mostly very helpful and my boss in particular made me feel like I was making a valuable contribution.
My supervisor was very helpful and gave me good details of what he wanted me to do and he was always very approachable if I had any questions.
For the most part I was very busy. There was one week where things were a bit quieter but up till then and straight afterwards I was very busy.
I had a lot of responsibility as I had to travel to various exhibitions for the company. Before leaving I had to ensure everything had been shipped as well as organizing my travel and accommodation arrangements. At the show I was then responsible for setting up our part of the exhibition.
General skills such as teamwork and communication were improved from this placement as opposed to more technical skills.
The Company
It was an enjoyable atmosphere to work in.
I think it was well organised although there was quite a delay between the last and second last stages of the application process.
Nothing was really required for this job. I was shown how to operate the equipment I was going to use but this wasn't a formal form of training.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
No concrete offers but I have been put in touch with the relevant people.
The Culture
The graduates and some of the other students have quite a good social scene.
As I lived in my own flat during the course of the placement this was no different to normal for me.

The friends I made were always arranging things outwith work.
