About You
It was a highly enjoyable 3 weeks. It was incredibly social, and the work was very interesting as well.
All the work you did, no matter how minor, seemed an important task, as they were very good at explaining how all the work fitted in the bigger picture.
We had a days training to start with, and additional workshops running all the way through the scheme.
There were research skills sessions, useful for uni, and also things like advocacy skills workshops which are more useful long term.
The Company
It was all well organised, nothing seeming too forced. The last week was busy, but it still all fitted together.
A great atmosphere to work in. As a group of vac scheme students we all got on, and it felt so easy talking to trainees on social events.
They held a lot of workshops. Very educational.
Having spent 3 weeks there, you learn most there is to learn about the firm.
There is a real open-door policy in Hogan Lovells, and people will often go and see a partner if they need to talk something through, with little hesitation.
Everything Else
Paid well enough to stay in London.
There were plenty of events, ranging from meeting trainees, to partners.
They were good fun and never seemed forced.
There were workshops on the pro bono activities and about the culture of the firm, so we saw different things people do.
Very educational, and good fun.
