  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • A real breadth of work, and exposure to a wide variety of practice areas

    • Everyone from trainees up to partners was extremely welcoming

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?

    • For each task, people were more than happy to sit down and explain things, as well as help out on more difficult tasks when necessary

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • Working in a business environment such as this, and particularly being able to attend client meetings has doubtlessly provided me with skills I will use throughout my professional career

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • Well structured. Informative talks everyday, but also good chances to really get involved with some work. The social events were both good fun too.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • Very friendly and welcoming. A very different environment to other firms I've worked at

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • Everyone within the firm was willing to spend time, impart knowledge and give me exposure to a range of tasks. The fact that the CEO was willing to give those on the vacation scheme a talk and answer questions was a point of particular note. I do not think that would happen as many firms at all.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • Trainees were very candid about their work and what their roles entialed. Everyone seemed very open to questions about what they do and how the firm works. I feel it was a very good insight into how a role here would actually be.

    • Very helpful. I really feel that I have a good idea of how the company operates at a personal level.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • It was very helpful, as it really clarified how I envisage my career progressing

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • I was taken for lunch with associates and trainees, other than my supervisor and buddy. There were also several ooportunities to meet and socialise with the current trainees.

    • The company funded two social events with the trainees, both of which were informal and good fun

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

    • Yes. We were told of numerous sports and social activites that are available, and during the two weeks a number of employees took park in a 5km run, amongst other things.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?

    • Yes. It has been a very enjoyable and insightful two weeks.
