About You
I enjoyed the work I have done but I haven't been made to feel welcome in the department.
I completed an onerous task for a trainee which took me the whole day. Once I had finished, I went to the trainee to tell her I had completed it. When she asked me to do another task for her I had to tell her I had urgent work from 2 other trainees to complete before I left work and she looked extremely annoyed. I felt as though all the effort I had put in to do the previous task for her was cancelled out because I was trying to prioritise other peoples work which I thought was very unfair and made me feel undervalued.
I felt very uncomfortable approaching people for help or to ask questions.
The variety of tasks I have done have given me a good insight into life as a corporate trainee.
The Company
Everything was well scheduled and the talks were well delivered by all the associates and partners.
The general atmosphere felt as though I should keep to myself. Some of the expressions on peoples faces when I would go and talk to them would be one of boredom or annoyance which was very off-putting. It stopped me from being able to learn more from the experience.
I would have liked to have some feedback on how we performed on our assessment days before the vacation scheme as that would have helped massively with my personal development.
I have closely watched what my trainee does on a day to day basis.
I definitely understand the way in which CMS operates after being here.
Everything Else
Yes
There were some but I think in vacation schemes you have to make the effort to network yourself.
They were well organised but the group was a bit quiet.
A lot of CSR and sports club activities.
It was a good experience but all in all I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome by the people of the firm.
