About You
It was a useful and pleasant insight into what it would be like to work for the firm.
Everyone, from Partner down to Trainee, was very friendly and would happily chat to me on the same level.
Everyone was more than willing to help me with anything I was stuck on.
The placement was more about getting work experience than getting better at studying. But that's its purpose, so the question is a little unfair.
The Company
Much better than another insight I undertook this summer at a different firm.
Friendly, but not laugh out loud fun the whole time - but I never expected that from a City law firm.
The placement was more about getting a flavour for the firm and its work rather than training students, but that is what I wanted in the short time I had with the firm.
It was very useful to see what trainees and more serior lawyers did day-to-day, and to help in little ways with thei work.
It was very useful as the placement allowed me to meet various kinds of people in the firm on an informal level to get a proper feel for what it would be like to work there.
Everything Else
£250 per week
There were a few short talks by trainees and junior lawyers, and two organised socials, which were helpful. More of the same would have ben nice.
The two that were organised were very nice - a cocktail making class and a dinner.
We had a CSR presentation, got to talk to lawyers and could get involved in some CSR whilst there if we had the time.
It was a very friendly and honest insight into the firm. I definitely got out of it what I wanted.
