About You
The firm were incredibly welcoming, the programme was well stuctured. Prior to the placement we had lots of contact with the firm. It felt as if they really made an effort for us.
I felt very valued and was given work that was actually used and did research that made a difference to people.
Through the buddy scheme I felt there was always someone to ask questions if I was stuck and for more general information HR were always on hand.
I feel that the work I did helped me enhance my existing skills which will help me in the future. The assessment process also taught me more about approaching the same situation which will help me in the future.
The Company
It was incredibly well structured. We were given lots of information prior to the placement and during the placement were given lots of information and had a well designed time table.
The firm were very welcoming and the social events, although could have had a better turn out from the trainees (but they are very busy so its understandable), were well organised and fun and well provided for. I felt welcomed by everyone including the partners and everyone wanted you to have a good time.
They helped in terms of future areas of law to go into but the scheme was probably too short to do any significant training and development.
There was a very good emphasis on what your role would be as a trainee and all the tasks were focused around what you would actually be doing in that role.
All the presentations and people in a more general way wanted you to understand the company culture and it was definitely easy to ask about it on multiple occassions. Sitting in the departments gave you a really insight into what it was like.
Everything Else
I was paid.
There was a chance to talk to lots of people at differnt levels of the firm and socialise with them and also you were encouraged to contact or seek out anyone you wanted to talk to.
Lots of fun. The only thing was there was a fairly low turnout of trainees at the evening events but they are all very busy.
We got told about lots of activities that go on outside of work but organised by the firm and the people who work here.
It was great two weeks and I would love to return to the firm.
