    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Lots of very friendly people and I wasn't sitting around photocopying for 2 weeks - I was actually trusted with lots of responsibility - drafting, research etc.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • It was clear that the work I was doing was being put immediately to use in client meetings and partner meetings. I wasn't just an extra problem for the firm, I was actually being an asset from the off.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • At all levels, people were keen to engage with me and assist with any problems I had. My trainee buddy was lovely, as were all the other trainees, and I was very impressed that the associates and partners wanted to help me out and introduce me to law.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Unlikely to help with my degree, but hopefully the office way of working and some of the terminology I picked up will stand me in good stead if they offer me a job!

    3/5

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I was never sitting around twiddling my thumbs, and always knew where to be when.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everyone was extremely approachable, and there was a relaxed office atmosphere - for Wimbledon the week before I was there they had set up a mini tennis court!

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were daily presentations from different practice areas.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Close interaction with trainees, along with lots of social opportunities to talk with them, meant that I gained a comprehensive idea of what it would be like to work in the firm.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • There was no pulling the wool over placement students' eyes - it was clear that what we were experiencing was the day to day culture of the office.
