The Role
All round a very good and challenging learning experience. Was exposed to a wide range of different areas within capital markets, beyond research. Was able to work with other areas of research and strategy teams including, emerging markets, foreign exchange and fixed income.
Colleagues were very supportive of the learning experience, and offered constructive and critical discussion of the work that was done for them.
Was given primary responsibility for researching and drafting research notes (reviewed by manager), and drafting market commentaries. Was challenged to develop new fixed income models, and FX models to be used for trading strategies for clients.
The Company
The firm is taking great strides forward strategically, significantly expanding global investment banking and capital markets operations. As a smaller bank on the international stage, in order to compete effectively against larger and more established firms, the challenge and demand for innovative client solutions is invigorating. The prospects of building a rising global brand and business is definitely exciting.
The Culture
Solid group of interns.
London is definitely not the cheapest city in the world.
