About You
Everyone was very friendly and we got to do real work and realistically experience life at the firm. The social side of the vacation scheme was excellent also.
Doing real work for trainees, associates and partners, I felt valued and that my help was seen as useful.
With an associate or partner as a supervisor, a trainee as a buddy and also a point of contact with graduate recruitment, there was also guidance and support when needed. People were very good at taking time to explain work fully.
I extended networking, interpersonal and communication skills which will remain useful.
The Company
We were given the schedule in advance and always knew what was happening. There was a good balance between time in you department and hearing talks from the other departments.
All the vac scheme students bonded well, as well as with the trainees. There were lots of social event - both officially organised and organised amongst ourselves. The firm also has a very friendly atmosphere,
We were given training on presentation skills from members of the business development team. Supervisors and buddies also took time to explain things happening in the departments also.
Felt like a real and genuine insight to life at the firm.
We had lunch with the management committee and so got an insight into the direction of the firm, and we also had significant opportunities to understand more of the culture through hearing about CSR at the firm.
Everything Else
We were paid £310 per week
Trainees were invited to all the social events. We also had drinks with associate supervisors, lunch with partners and a lunch with the management committee.
Great fun and plenty of them
We were able to ask about sports teams, pro bono work etc
Excellent vacation scheme
