The Role
Great environment, with a variety of work.
People were eager to stress that the work you did added value and was necessary.
You are assigned a counselor during your internship, and mine provided me with a lot of guidance and help. Managers were sometimes very busy and struggled to brief you in detail, but overall, it wasn't much of a problem.
Enough work was sent my way: My department was very busy, but people took time to direct work to interns.
I felt I have shouldered enough responsibility, and found myself taking initiative on a lot of tasked beyond what was asked of me. However there is scope for interns to be stretched more.
I developed a great understanding of the firm, and work that is conducted for clients.
The Company
Upbeat atmosphere: there are many projects being undertaken at present so people were always on the move. Very few people were on the bench.
Overall it was pretty methodical.
A lot of time and resources were sent my way, given how little time some managers had. For example, I conducted a Partner shadowing day, which was hugely beneficial.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
A very good chance to be fast tracked for a graduate position.
The Culture
Whole host of social events organised throughout the internship.
London can never be cheap.
Fantastic as always in London.
Plenty of clubs and societies to get involved with.
