About You
A fantastic vacation scheme overall. Varied activities, good social events, work was interesting and challenging.
The people at Hogan Lovells are excellent and graduate recruitment makes an active effort to ensure you are doing well.
Although supervisors often tended to be very busy, they still took time to explain or respond to any questions. The trainees in each group I sat in were helpful and provided much of the daily tasks.
Definitely a good way to get exposure to what life at a City law firm will be like.
The Company
Good balance between time at your desk as well as vacation scheme activities.
Many social events and opportunities to meet with vacation scheme students, as well as current trainees and other members of the firm. A great place to spend three weeks of the summer!
There were frequent sessions to provide you with information about the legal sector and various departments.
Again, doing a law degree in university doesn't quite prepare you for the type of work you will be doing day-to-day as a trainee solicitor. A scheme like this is a perfect way of getting exposure to the City.
It's difficult to tell what a firm will be like without spending time there, but Hogan Lovells lives up to its reputation as one of the best places to work in the city.
Everything Else
£300 per week
Plenty of opportunities to chat with people from trainees to partners.
Frequent social events and networking opportunities, including a weekly partner-hosted lunch.
Good sessions on pro bono as well as sporting activities.
Without a doubt, one of the best vacation scheme placements I've attended.
