The Role
Placement extremely enjoyable. JLR is an exciting company to work for and this sense of enthusiasm can be felt at all levels within the company.
The diverse team of Manufacturing Engineers with a wide range of skills that I work with are more than happy to offer help and guidance and involve me in all aspects of work life including socials.
Manager extremely helpful at all times, giving suitable support but still giving a chance to demonstrate own skills and accept responsibility.
Worked 40 hour weeks and am never bored! Always things to do whether producing daily update reports to independent work on my own major project.
Given a significant individual project which requires interaction with all levels of the business and various departments. Involved in new vehicle launch and the improvement of existing processes.
Whilst the role is very different to the academic nature of a University course, the personal and problem solving skills gained will be invaluable throughout working life.
The Company
Good balance between enjoyable work place and productive atmosphere.
Very well organised right from the HR organisation of the interview process and induction, through to my welcome in the office, and the availability of resources and guidance during the placement.
Lots of help and guidance from senior colleagues and access to all appropriate company training as desired.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Very appealing! An exciting company to work for and one which I would hope to work for again.
The Culture
Good group of placement students onsite. Great because they share similar interests with you. Could meet for lunch in canteen and socialised out of work on a weekly basis.
Liverpool is a good value area to live and socialise.
Great place to go out. Lots on offer, and on the whole good value.
Opportunities in a large company in a large city are huge.
