The Role
Even though I was not in a department that was directly related to my area of interest, the team I worked with dealt with some very exciting features.
I felt like I was saving them a lot of time by helping with different projects.
had a fantastic manager who is an expert in the field and was always very supportive and approachable.
had work to do but not too much so I could have a good work-life balance and was able to spend time up-skilling and had enough time to do the work I was assigned
Given a lot of responsibility considering the placement is so short
the role I had is not directly related to my field of study, but because of that all the skills I have attained are things I would not have learned otherwise, and will give me a huge advantage upon returning to college.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly, relaxed, and helpful
There were some issues getting access to software, site access.. etc. Nothing that wasn't expected
Training was available online or in person and was very much ecouraged
Subsidised Canteen
Working from home
It seems like there are lots of jobs available in my department and plenty of room for movement between departments which is nice
The Culture
Mostly met other interns because a lot of us live in the same place and car pool
Much cheaper than Ireland
Not living in that nice a city
A few, but probably more if I was staying for a longer period of time
