  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • As well as being a valuable experience and insight into the firm, the placement was, above all very enjoyable.

    • I was given the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to work and was given tasks to do that were valued by supervisors.

    • A system of supervisors and trainee buddies meant that I felt support throughout the placement.

    • In addition to developing my legal skills, there were also useful skills sessions on negotiation and marketing.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • Extremely well structured; HR managed to achieve a good balance of work and activities and everything ran very smoothly.

    • There was a good atmosphere; we were made to feel welcome by most people at the firm.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • As above, the firm invested in skills training sessions. There was a little less of the IT and information systems training that was available at a previous placement I have attended.

    • By sitting in two departments across the two weeks I gained what I believe was a great insight into working life at the firm.

    • Being at the firm for two weeks allowed me to form a good impression of the culture.

    • The allowance that I was paid very adequately covered accommodation, food, etc. costs and travel over the two weeks.

    • We were informed on all manner of charity work, and sports opportunities available at the firm.
