The Role
Fantastic opportunities to work on a wide range of projects.
Everyone was friendly. The Intel Open Door policy means that there is a culture of openness in terms of asking questions and meeting with people.
Everyone I worked for offered advice on my work. My management supported me to take part in activities not directly relating to my teams business are. Allowing me to see more of the company.
Some days I could be left to work quietly on projects whilst other everything was going on. The work was really enjoyable at both ends of the spectrum.
Not exactly running the show but, within a few weeks of starting I took over responsibility of a test lab facility. I was the person to ask if time was needed on a machine or technical advice about the machines was needed.
The placement showed me how it is to work in a large multi national corporation, working with people from different timezones and cultures is something I value from the experience. I also discovered some new areas in my field that I really enjoy working on.
The Company
Everyone was friendly and open. Quarterly events where held for members of the office.
The organisation within the UK was pretty good. Some miscommunications across countries led to a few very minor problems in my first week but overall fantastic.
The company funded me to attend a few technical conferences which also had the benefit of enabling me to meet other people in the industry. At Intel, there are a lot of experts in their fields, and you have easy access to them whilst working at Intel.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
I am hopeful but there is no direct path currently.
The Culture
Certainly.
The office I was placed in was in fairly expensive area, managing my spending was important but there was still money for socialising.
Not too bad.
There are loads of clubs to join if you wish.
