About You
This is just an expectation that I had: I had hoped that all the employees who participated in the panel discussion had come prepared with a short discussion on those things (stereotypical or otherwise) that affect women in the workplace (given that it was a Female Insight Day, and then discuss how these are relevant to women working at the Bank of England.
The employees were very friendly, interactive and open to questions. This made us feel welcomed.
The tips on the application process were very helpful. Hopefully we will make use of them to increase our chances of impressing our prospective employer!
Although the context was the Bank of England, the information on the application process and working at the establishment could be applied to other institutions, and should go a long way in helping us to better represent ourselves and be open to changes and expansion of our roles.
The Company
The day went according to schedule, with every participant/employee arriving on time.
It was great having some of the employees joining us for lunch - providing added time for more questions and advice.
N/A
Having met employees who entered the team directly or through job schemes, it was interesting to see how they have developed and how different training programmes have assisted this development. It speaks to the commitment of the employer in molding their employees for personal development, as well as to suit the needs of their role.
In describing their roles, employees displayed a level of commitment to their job and gave an insight into how the teamwork-driven atmosphere has helped them along the way.
Everything Else
Reimbursement of travel expenses was offered.
Their were employees who were schedule to participate in the panel discussion, as well as those who interacted with us during the breaks.
Some employees did offer their contact information for any extra questions and advice.
There were mentions of involvement in community projects.
Yes, regardless of their degree-programme, as their is a place for everyone at the Bank of England.
