The Role
There was a good mixture of work and socialising as the role is very much a sales role meaning there is plenty of banter floating around the office
I fit into the team I worked in very well and at many points felt very central to what was going on, also any achievements and birthdays were widely acknowledged by all in a very big office which made work feel more like a family
My manager was always there to help and guide me in the right direction when need and still is now should I need advice
Everyday was different, I always found that I could keep busy easily with helping out other consultants but since this role is made easier by the more people you talk to, if you're doing it right you won't be bored
The amount of responsibility given to placement students is unlike any other placement I've known, you are basically doing the same job as consultants and not just the lacky
The skills I gained would help with presentations and also interviewing,cv writing, marketing, advertising, negotiating with clients and candidates and many other things
The Company
I enjoyed the work environment but there were awkward times as expected
The interview process was quick and concise
I was given all of the training a full associate consultant was given including 2 seperate weeks away training with the firms specialised training team
Company Parties/Events
I was told after 2 months that I should consider coming back by colleagues only for this to be reiterated by managers and my director which was nice
The Culture
Students were placed in other teams to myself so instead I socialised with other colleagues
Living in London was ridiculously expensive and with the salary offered it took a lot of tracking to make money last
Brixton....
Mainly drinking but we also had charity events involving a 7.5k run against directors around Hyde park
